So, what does it really take to make a windmill? First, you will need some basic supplies, such as:
- A battery (preferably a car battery).
- Steel tubing (you can actually pick up recycled steel tubing for a lot less than regular tubing)
- Electrical wiring
- Sheet metal
The real beauty about building one of your own is that all of the supplies needed can be purchased from a hardware store for less than $200. If you think $200 is too much, think about this for a moment: Consider your heating/cooling costs and power usage each month. Your small investment now will save you tons of money over the long haul. How? You'll be shaving money off of your power bill each and every month by using free wind power to generate electricity!
Of course, building your own windmill also requires an excellent set of instructions to follow. Don't fall for the free tips you find online, as you will only find yourself confused. What you need is a good blueprint that shows you how to build a windmill, step-by-step.
